DESIGN: Early in the design process, our Artisans determined that in order to build a beautiful copper sink, able to withstand the punishment of today's modern kitchen, each sinks should be constructed using heavy, 12-Gauge copper. Drawing on a classic undermount design combined with modern finishing techniques, our Artisans selected a hammered finish to create an exquisite copper undermount kitchen sink. MATERIAL: Thick 12-Gauge Copper Alloy made from 99% pure copper and 1% zinc (for strength and integrity) PRODUCTION: Using extra-thick 12-Gauge copper, each sink is T.I.G. welded using pure copper to ensure proper fusion/sealing at the corners and seams. Once formed, each sink is hand-hammered, to create an elegant, exquisite finish. Since copper is a malleable metal, the hammering process creates a stronger and more durable surface, hiding any nicks or scratches that can occur with any heavily used sink.
